Five Keys To Realizing Your Purpose
Have you ever wondered what it takes to live out your purpose? Beside clarifying what it is and where you are meant to live it out, there’s one key truth that gets missed.
You have all you need to realize your purpose.
Here is the key in this. What you need, doesn’t show up until you need it.
Have you ever had the experience of the right person, idea, ability or opportunity show up when you needed it most, to accomplish what you know had to be done?
This is what I am talking about.
We’ve already been given what we need to realize our purpose. Now given we don’t always see it, but this is one of the keys to realizing your purpose. It takes faith. Faith in that you are here for a reason. Either as a person, family, organization, community, and country. We are all here, where we are, for a reason.
So if we are here for a reason, then what we need is available to us to realize our purpose.
This doesn’t mean we can all just sit back and wait for it to happen. We are an active participant in the story that gets revealed each day. There are moments in our day that are ours to do. Not out of duty, but out of purpose. There are needs all around us. Needs that we have a specific answer for. These ideas, abilities and passions to do something are given so that we can realize our purpose.
All of these things we have been given are what I call tools. Tools are anything that can be used to realize your purpose. A tool can be your job, a relationship, an education, your car, your house, the community in which you live, an idea, a conversation and so on.
Tools fall into five different categories. This is a simple list that will help you determine what tools you have been given to realize your purpose. This will also show you what tools you have been using that don’t help you to realize your purpose. And so you can let those go.
The five categories are:
1. People
2. Time
3. Money
4. Methods
5. Materials
There are people in your life, company, community, country and the world that are here to help you realize your purpose. You are that person for others as well. The time you have is a tool to help you realize your purpose. How are you using it? Is it being used wisely to realize your purpose. The same goes with your money. Lay out a simple budget to see where your money is being spent each month. There, you’ll see if you are using it to realize your purpose or not. There are certain ways you do things, that would go in the methods category that either help you realize your purpose or hinder you. Take a look at the ways you connect with others, live out your life or run your organization. Is it helping or hinder you in realizing your purpose. This is where it is key to be crystal clear on what your purpose is. Finally you have been given the stuff in your life to be able to realize your purpose in all you do, everywhere you are. What have you been given that helps you realize your purpose. What have you picked up along the way that stops or hinders you from serving where you’re meant to be.
The key having access to what you need to realize your purpose, is to step out and realize it. That’s how it works. If you never stand up and take the step, you don’t need it, so why would we get it?
